Scaling down of SCS Project end August 2021 and continuing support

As most areas of life are re-opening and the SCS volunteers go back to previous commitments, we will be scaling down the SCS Project as a Covid-19 response at the end of August 2021, in the following way:

  • Last main distribution of meals on Thursday 22nd July.
  • An emergency supply of meals will be available during the school holidays from late July to end August – families can access these by emailing us on [email protected]
  • From September onwards, SCS will continue to respond to families in particular need and/or having to self-isolate due to COVID-19 infection with free frozen meals. SCS will also distribute meals at school holidays (October half-term, Christmas, etc.)
  • SCS will continue to monitor the ongoing pandemic situation, ready to respond as the situation develops.

SCS has been an amazing journey of community involvement, with local people, churches, schools and other caring agencies across Guildford working together to give a helping hand to families in need during the pandemic. Our two churches (St Peter’s Shared Church and St John’s Stoke Church) are a continued presence in the community and also remain ready to offer ongoing support.
